Apple Crumble Cake

Cake Ingredients
2 cups plain flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup quick cooking oats
3/4 cup butter -- melted
1 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 apples, peeled -- cored, sliced
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350F or 180C.
2. Stir together flour, brown sugar, oats, butter. Spread half of mixture in 9 x 13 pan. Pat down.
3. Combine white sugar, cornstarch, salt and water in saucepan. Cook over moderate heat,
stirring until thickened.
4. Add sliced apples and vanilla to saucepan. Stir to coat well.
5. Spread evenly over crumbly mixture in pan. Top with remaining crumbs & cook for an hour
or until skewer inserted into the cake comes out cleanly.
Try a scoop of vanilla ice cream or cream on top.
