Apple Nut Cake

Cake Ingredients
1 cup Sugar
2 cup Peeled & diced apples
1 Egg -- well beaten
1 cup Flour
1 teaspoon Soda
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup Chopped pecans or walnuts (or any unsalted nuts of your choice)
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375F or 190C.
2. Mix sugar and apples with a tbsp of hot water. Add egg when sugar is dissolved.
3. Sift flour, soda & cinnamon together. Add to apple mixture. Add vanilla and nuts.
4. Pour into greased and floured 8 inch cake pan. Cook for 40 minutes.
Ingredients for Hot Butter Sauce
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoon. flour
1 cup water
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine first 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil until clear. Add butter and vanilla, stir until butter
is melted. Pour over hot cake. Delicious but rich!
